Privacy Policy
How Caifolio handles your information.
Last updated: 2026-11-05
No app account required
Caifolio does not require you to create an app account or connect brokerage accounts. The app does not read transaction histories. iCloud and in-app purchases use the Apple Account on your device. The app has no advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs.
Records on your device and iCloud
Assets, holding records, and price and exchange-rate snapshots are stored on your device (using SwiftData). When your iCloud account is available and the cloud store opens successfully, this data is also stored and synced in the private CloudKit database Apple provides for your iCloud account. Otherwise, the app uses local storage only.
iCloud being enabled does not mean that all data has been uploaded or received by other devices.
Search and market data
Stock search and quotes use Eastmoney; fund search and net asset values use Tiantian Fund (Eastmoney); crypto search and prices use CoinGecko; gold prices use Shanghai Gold Exchange; exchange rates use Frankfurter.
Requests send the relevant search terms, asset codes or identifiers, quote currencies or currency pairs, and other necessary parameters. Network connections also disclose network data such as your IP address to the service providers. Their handling of that data is subject to their own privacy policies.
The app does not send holding quantities, balances, cost prices or notes as market-data request parameters. When you search for an asset, the app sends only your search terms, never screenshots or full recognized text.
Screenshots and drafts
Apple Vision recognizes the asset screenshots you choose on your device. They are not sent to a third-party OCR service. Draft copies are only for continuing on this device and may be lost after uninstalling or changing devices. The app marks draft copies for exclusion from device backups, but Apple controls the final backup behavior; the copies use complete file protection.
The app deletes the draft copy after import or when discarded, but does not delete your original photo. Whether the original is stored in iCloud Photos depends on your Photos settings.
Purchases and the 7-day trial
Apple handles purchases, subscriptions, restoration and refunds (using StoreKit); the app reads verified current entitlements to enable full access or view-only mode. The 7-day trial start is stored in the device keychain to prevent reinstalling from resetting the trial. It remains there after uninstalling and is not used for advertising or behavioral analytics.
Local preferences
Preferences such as display currency and gain/loss colors are stored locally to remember your display choices (using UserDefaults).
Deletion and history
Deleting a holding in the app does not completely erase its data: the holding and its records are marked as deleted (soft deletion), rather than permanently removed from the database. Historical records and associated price and exchange-rate snapshots are retained and can be used to reconstruct valuations from before deletion.
Apple provides the system controls for managing iCloud storage. The effects of those actions follow Apple’s rules and are not guaranteed to delete all history stored on this device.
